The tenth session of the Assembly will bring together Heads of State and Government, Ministers, Member delegations as well as heads of international and regional organisations, public and private entities and civil society representatives to contribute to the energy transformation dialogue.

Organized by GOGLA and the World Bank Group’s Lighting Global Program, the event aims to accelerate the development of the global off-grid solar market contributing to achieving universal energy access by 2030.
The IRENA Council is composed of 21 Member States elected for a two-year term and is accountable to the Assembly. Council members serve on a rotating basis to ensure the effective participation of both developing and developed countries and a fair and equitable geographical distribution. The Council’s responsibilities include facilitating consultation and cooperation among IRENA Members and reviewing the draft work programme, draft budget and annual report.
